This past fall, we completed the relocation and installation of Opus 6304 (1994) into the brand new and beautifully executed home of Our Lady Of The Rosary Catholic Church in Greenville, SC. It was a sincere pleasure to work with everyone at our Lady Of The Rosary, and wish them many years of uplifting music through their newly acquired instrument. We recently received a letter from Fr. Longenecker and thought we would share it with you here:
“When building our new church we were not able to budget anything for an organ of any kind. About half way through the project when I despairingly came to the conclusion that we would have to “make do” with an electronic substitute, a team got together to research the possibility of purchasing a pipe organ. Happily, there was room in the choir loft for a pipe organ, and within a few months the team was successful in their attempts to put together a financial plan.
The question then arose of where to find the right instrument. We tried various organ suppliers, and were pleased that Wicks company had a good, used instrument that seemed to be the right size for our space.
Scott Wick worked with us to provide an excellent instrument that had been salvaged from another church. Not only was the pipe organ the right size, but it was the right price. Scott and his men arrived on the scene and with utmost professionalism tailored the salvaged instrument for our new building. They worked smoothly with the rest of the building professionals and had the new organ ready to burst forth for our dedication service.
The splendid new church of Our Lady of the Rosary in Greenville, SC is blessed with an excellent acoustic for natural music and the Wicks organ completes and complements our worship now and for many years to come.
