Opus 6466 installation complete ![]() The installation of Opus 6466 for King Moravian Church in King North Carolina has been completed. Over 75 people turned out the day the truck arrived from Highland, to help unload and participate in this historic event in the life of their congregation. The church has been raising money for a pipe organ since 1990. Approximately a year ago, two members of the organ committee visited the Wicks shop in Highland to evaluate Wicks’ ability to fulfill the musical needs of their congregation. Shortly after their visit a stoplist was drawn and the specifics of their organ were ironed out so that a contract could be signed. Quickly, additional money was raised and the creation of 6466 began. Even during the downsizing process of the Wicks firm, the employees put forth their usual effort and dedication to quality, giving King Moravian Church a piece of themselves through their craft. That craft shines today in the smiles of the congregants, some of whom had been waiting over 20 years for the day to come. Wicks is grateful that King Moravian Church will love and care for the last instrument built within the walls of the 100 year old factory building located at 1100 5th Street. |
