The original system for connecting the console to the rest of the organ. In its purest state, all parts are mechanical: ‘trackers’ and other parts connecting the keys and valves under the pipes, ‘sliders’ and drawknobs to turn stops on and off, mechanical couplers between keyboards/ and mechanical connections between expression pedal and louvers. This system is also called ‘Tracker Action’. It promotes a compact arrangement of the parts of the organ but it limits console placement and is not adaptable to every situation.
